24 Weeks & Lots of Updates!!!

I'm so bad at this blogging stuff…I'm really mad at myself. I wanted to have a journal to look back on to see how week by week I was growing and how I was feeling…and I'm just plain too lazy and busy to get on here and blog about it.

My last OB appt in March was such a breeze there nothing to report there. I've only had one tiny scare/confusion. A few weeks back I had the strangest feeling down in my private area…like a tampon was falling out. I went to the dr. and she said I was fine. No dilation or anything. What probably happened is the boys gave me a good kick in the cervix and it's not use to that kind of thing. But otherwise I've been feeling really good and lucky thus far with everything.

I started my Baby Registry there at Babies R Us, babysupermall.com, and Target. My mom and I went registering together at Babies R Us and Target a few Saturdays back… and man what a blast that was. Looking at all of the baby stuff was just overwhelming and fun!! But I brought along my Baby Bargains Book and a list I had found online on what they had registered for their twins for. Both were a great resource/help. Did I follow everything to a "T"…NO…but I think I registered for everything that was reasonable to ask for and is a need…not a want. There is probably something's I left off because either I don't know I need yet or just don't know about. Mike did not want to participate in this adventure. But as soon as I got home that night…he was like what did we register for.

Baby Super Mall is an online store that has all my nursery items. It was $20 - $30 cheaper than Babies R Us and/or Target. I like a deal when I'm shopping so I figure if anyone is going to buy me things for the nursery I rather save them so money if I can.

Baby Shower invites have gone out. If you did not get one please let me or my mom know ASAP…we didn't mean to leave you out or it got lost in the mail. I'm really excited about my Baby Shower…and it's my baby shower, too… I can't believe I'm saying that. The baby shower is set for Saturday, May 15th.

Everyone now can feel the babies kick…such an awesome feeling. You can actually see it from the outside if they kick hard enough…especially the baby on my right side. My biggest craving / desire is my ice cream… And it must be vanilla w/chocolate swirl or vanilla and chocolate…I must have it on a nightly basis if not every other night at least. And when Mike forgets to buy it…I get quite angry…LOL…and go buy it myself at my local grocery store.

Nursery…not started…BUT…we have started Anthony's basement bedroom. We've, I mean, Mike, Anthony, my DAD, and my twin brothers (Nate & Ty) have been working their butts off these past few weekends. We have the whole area framed and electricity is being run this weekend. It's so exciting to see that room coming together and I think Anthony is getting more excited to be getting a basement bedroom. At least I hope he is. Anthony has been given an eviction date to get out of his old bedroom so that we can start setting up the cribs and let them air out. Plus I'll need the room for all the gifts I'll be receiving at my work shower coming up in a few weeks.

My next OB appt is tomorrow (Sat. the 10th) and my mom and Shelby are coming with me. My dr. always does a quick U/S to check heartbeats. And since my mom couldn't be in the room with me for my Level II U/S I'm bringing her with me to this appt. Plus Shelby has never seen a U/S before…she is quite excited about seeing her little brothers.

Then my next Level II U/S for a growth scan is next Thurs. the 15th…taxes are due!!! And because I made this one for an afternoon appt…Mike gets to come see. He's only seen the fuzzy images / blobs on the screen. Minus the pictures I bring home from the Level II U/S's I've had…but it's not the same till you get to see them moving on the screen. The last Level II U/S I had that was a quick in and out appt baby B had found his ear and was tugging on it… It was so funny to see that and I'm like don't pull to hard, please…you kind of need that kid…LOL Even the U/S tech laughed at the sight. I will be asking for double confirmation on the sexes…not that I doubt that they are boys…but I just want to make sure… We do have some names picked out and we will have to see if they suit the boys once they make their appearance. Baby A - Andrew Thomas and Baby B - Joseph Nunzio/Scott still deciding on the middle name...I'm pretty sure we will go with Nunzio after Mike's middle name.

Level II U/S & Genders!!!

I had my 1st Level II U/S today...it was so neat to see the babies as babies. The only thing that sucked about the U/S was my mom came with me since Mike couldn't and they wouldn't let her back with me during the U/S. So she had to wait the hour and half before she knew anything... :(

But other than that seeing my little ones moving around and punching and kicking was quite awesome!!! Both babies are measuring at 19w and I'm 18w5d so they are 2 days ahead right now. Both weighed 10 oz's. Doctor was very happy with everything and everything looked really good. Amniotic fluids / sacs were even between the two them and big. They are breech babies right now but they have plenty of room and time to flip flop down.

Genders...I'm hoping some of you caught that I changed the background color again...to blue...meaning Twin BOYS!!!

2nd OB Appt - 15 Weeks

I had my 2nd OB appt yesterday the 5th and everything is on track. We didn't get an U/S...it really made me and Mike upset because we were really looking forward to seeing the babies again. Even my Dr. was a little upset, it was the front desk/scheduler that forgot to schedule us in for an U/S...But no worries I made sure that at my next appt I'll be getting one.

My weight is on track, very happy with my exercising routine, and we got to hear the babies heartbeats. One's was at 140 and the other was at 160...so MAYBE boy/girl if the old wives tale is true...we'll see!!! The only concerns we have right now is I have a little too much sugar and protein in my urine checks. But I made my next appt for the afternoon and see if that makes a different...IF not then we'll do some extra testing to make sure I stay healthy and the babies, too!

Also, before my next OB appt I will have a Level II U/S with my new high-risk OB doctor. I will be 19 weeks then and we should be able to see the genders for sure!! I will be coming up with a unique way of telling all of you on here on my blog!! My next appts are March 3rd for the Level II U/S and March 4th for a regular check up.

14 Weeks!! Out of 1st Trimester!!

I'm done with the 1st Trimester...YAY!!! I'm so excited to be over that hurdle and I know there are more to come but that was the biggest one for 1st time moms. I've been feeling good and really feel gratefuly on how well I've felt. Through the 1st trimester I only had a few symptoms...little night sickness (never threw up), headaches at night, and minor aches and pains in my sides. Other than that, thats it. Oh I still don't like meats!! Yuck!!

My puppies...Liberty & Ringo still haven't noticed or cared that mommy has 2 babies inside of her and still attempt to sleep on my belly. Its quite funny when I'm pushing them off they look at me like "Don't you love me??" Its so sad :(



I'm trying to stay fit thru the pregnancy so I've recruited my co-worker to drag me with her everyday for a 20 min walk. Its been very refreshing and I think good for me and the babies. I also finally purchased Prenatel Yoga by Shiva Rea...awesome!!! She has herself and 2 other ladies doing the moves and depending on what trimester your in thats the lady you follow. So Shiva is doing the 1st trimester, Bridetta is doing the 2nd trimester, and Poppy is doing the 3rd trimester. I would highly recommend this DVD to other women that are expecting as long as their doctor had ok them for excercising. Which yes mine said it was fine to do.

I started browsing the internet for baby stuff and crib bedding these past few weeks. But now being in the 2nd trimester I hope to get up to my local Babies R Us and look at things hands on. It should be fun... ;)

The babies are roughly 3-1/2" long and 1-1/2 ounces and they are streching out. They are able to move and kick me but I cannot feel it yet. They also will be able to start sucking their thumbs this week too!! So cool!!!

My next OB appt is next Friday, February 5th and I will do another update.

Here is how I told work...

1st Ob Appt.

I had my first OB appt last Tuesday. I know I know...I'm bad at this blogging stuff. I'm hoping I'll get better as the months go on...we'll see. So I had my 1st Ob appt last Tuesday and it went really really good!!! My doctor was excited to see me pregnant finally. She gave me a bunch of information and the book "What to Expect When your Expecting" for free, AWESOME!! I also got a U/S and will get one every time I go due to having twins. Its easier to see the heartbeats via U/S then try to hear the heartbeats on the doppler and know which one is which. At 20 weeks I start seeing a high-risk OB for bi-weekly U/S to check the placenta's, umbilical cords, and babies growth. Then at 24 weeks I will start seeing my regular OB also bi-weekly and then at 30 weeks every week. My next appt is Feb. 5th...it seems so far away.

I told work when I got back from the appt. And everyone is very excited and shock that it is twins. Of course they don't know how they were conceived but that doesn't matter let them think and wonder. Don't bother me and it can't either.

Then on Tuesday night mom took me out and we went shopping for maternity clothes. As I was growing out of my pants and my shirts are tight in the belly area. We went to the Huntley Outlets to Motherhood Maternity and there was no one there that night. So it was nice to have my own personal shopper. The sales lady was wonderful and picked out most of the tops. They also had a belly pillow to try on under the clothes to see what you look at 3 months from now...I have a picture on my phone I'll have to upload onto here. I told the sales lady that when the times comes for summer clothes I want to come back when she is there so she can see my process.

That's about it. I'll be 12 weeks this Friday and I can't believe it!
