Pumpkin Farm

Went to the Pumpkin Farm this past weekend... It was a beautiful day but very crowded.  And this year the boys enjoyed it even more... They walked the whole time and were able to see the animals and interact with the animals. Andy loved loved the animals and was not afraid at all. Joey took a little while to warm up. I have so many pictures of them looking, feeding, and petting the animals. Also have a few by the pumpkins too, Joey liked throwing the pumpkins. Andy was more interested in the animals or the climbing structures...not so much the pumpkins. Here are a few photos of my favorites....

Baby Boys to Big Boys

Baby boys to big boys means... We had to convert their cribs to toddler beds. Saturday at nap time they both climbed out. So no nap on Saturday we thought a fluke. Well Sunday morning they were out of their cribs again. Mike and I didn't want to risk them doing it again and falling and breaking something. Needless to say there was no nap again Sunday, so we will see what happens tonight.

I also toddler-proofed their room... Put locks on the dresser, lock on the closet doors, put all electrics up on wall shelves, and turned their door knob so I can lock them in the room. Judge away if need be, but this mommy is a hard sleeper and might not wake up to little ones getting out.

Last night's sleep went pretty well. They cried at first but eventually climbed into one bed and fell asleep together, see last picture. About 10:00 Joey fell out of bed and of course I went running… Well then that turned into an hour of wrestling them back into bed. So instead I put them back in bed and closed the door… Within 5 minutes they were back in one bed again. This morning when I woke up both of them were on the floor sleeping. And when I got done getting ready they were both awake and happy as can be playing in their safe room. :)

Weekend / Coon Creek Days / Updates

This past week and weekend have been very busy. But at the same time I haven't had much too post either.

Coon Creek Days is a local yearly celebration we have in my hometown of Hampshire. My mom and I decided to do a garage sale and it went well!! I sold almost 50% of the boys baby clothes and sold 2 big baby items!! More room in the basement!! Also I ran in the annual race in CC Days the 10K and I did better than last year by 3 minutes!! Then at noon there is a parade... The boys waved and said hi to almost every car/float/truck... It was so cute. It was their 3rd CC parade! Their 1st year they were only over a month old.

Other things I don't want to forget...

Andrew & Joseph are saying and doing:

1. Every night we read Goodnight Moon and the mouse moves on every color page and this is what they say: Where did he go? There he is?

2. If Joseph is doing something wrong, Andrew will shout Jo Jo no no!!

3. They both have started playing hide-n-seek with the older kids at daycare.

4. Can almost repeat all words I ask.

5. Know all their major body parts, eyes, nose, ears, teeth, hair, fingers, toes, feet, belly, arms, and legs. Working on elbows and knees.

6. Andrew likes to swim under the water in our little kiddie pool.

7. Both love to swim! And make a huge mess when we do baths!!

8. Joseph is my better eater... But both still don't care for red meats or pork. Will eat chicken nuggets and fish fillets.

9. They love to wrestle each other and sometimes I have to pull them apart it gets too rough. LOL!!

Cuddle Time

My boys were big, big cuddlers...up till a year ago. They still give out hugs and kisses. But to get the actually cuddler to come out is near impossible. They are on the go till they drop at night.

But tonight Joey wanted some cuddles from his mama. And you know what? I took him up on the offer... LOL!!

I figure in a few more years there won't be this whole huge bedtime routine and they'll read me the books. So for now while my boys will still cuddle when they want I will be there...

Updates, Updates, Updates...

I have not been a very good blogger at all... I love to read blogs and feel sad when one has not been updated... And what have I done but neglect my own for over a year.

So many things have changed in our household in the past year... My twins are 2 years old now, my step-children are all teenagers, one has his license and a job, and my step-daughter has not lived with us for a year now. But life is still so busy. How does the saying go... "not enough hours in the day". That is so true for me and my family.

Mike is busy working hard every day to provide the things our family needs, so his schedule is hectic. He gets up at 2:55 am 5x's a week and does not get home till 4:00 pm. Then he comes home, works-out if he has the energy, and then starts dinner. Me, I get up at 7:00 am and get myself ready and the twins. We are out the door no later than 8:15 am and I go to work all day till 5:00. My step-boys get themselves ready now and have been for quite a few years. I'm not a morning person I tell you. But when 6:00 rolls around we are all at the table eating dinner, unless my oldest has to work that night. Then it's get the dishwasher loaded, play outside if it's nice enough, get baths done, etc. etc. etc... And the next thing I know its 8:00 pm and it's time to go to bed. Well for my hubby and twins. I just started recently staying up a little past 8:00 and I figure if I'm going to stay awake...

Let's get this blog started up again!!

I know a lot of you are my friends on FaceBook so that helps keep a lot of you up to date and picture of my twins up to date. But for those who only know me through the internet.. I feel really bad!! Especially if I stalk your blogs...LOL!!

There is going to be a lot of random thoughts thrown out here.. FYI

Personal changes I've made in this past year is exercising more frequently and doing some crazy obstacle races. It started last September 2011 with my friend, Nicole, the Warrior Dash. But before we did the Warrior Dash in August my home town has a local race every year, a 10k and I decided with only 3 weeks of training I was going to run in the 10K. And I did... 1hour 5mins it took me not bad at all. Then in October we did a Spartan Sprint (Mini-Beast) with my hubby and little brother. Then winter came and I kicked ass in the gym... I was doing so well!! Then spring arrived and it started to get nice out. So I started running outside and stop going to the gym. Well eventually I just cancelled the gym membership to start saving the money... Then I just got lazy and sick... And have been a lazy ass since April. But I have done 2 other races this year so far... Merrill Down & Dirty and another Warrior Dash. Nicole and I have made a commitment to do the Warrior Dash till we can't do them no more. But that's the problem with not enough hours in the day...I don't have the time to run like I would like to or go workout in the basement. Because I would really like to do the 10K again this year and I don't think that's going to happen. My leg has been bothering me for the past 2 weeks and it's really bumming me out! And this damn heat in Illinois is killing me... No go for running in 100F heat.

Last July 2011 my mom and dad decided to take the whole family to Tennessee...Instead of buying gifts for everyone for birthday or Christmas, mom and dad decided to spend their money on vacation rental home instead. They pay for the rental home and food. All we have to do is get there. So July 2011 was Gatlinburg, TN for a week. It was wonderful! The twins traveled so well and had a lot of fun. We went to Dollywood for 2 days and the rest of the time spent in our cabin.

Then this year June 2012 mom and dad took us all out to the Outer Banks, NC. OMG!! It was heaven... We were right on the beach, private beach... And had a huge house, our own swimming pool, and hot tub! It was luxurious and peaceful and relaxing... That we all decided this is where we will go every year for here on out. Somehow, some way we will make the trip out to the Outer Banks, NC every year.

Other than those few things, my life is still the same as it was when I blogged before. I have 2 more tattoos which I will share.

I've lost all my weight from having the twins and look pretty damn good... Besides the extra skin and pouch that will never go away without surgery. I did go to 2 tummy tuck consults and they look awesome, but are too expensive for our budget at this time. So no tight shirts or skinny jeans at the same time for this momma any more.

The twin updates:

Andrew & Joseph - 2 Years Old!! I want to know how this is even possible. I feel like just yesterday I was having them and was in the hospital.

Here are some milestones I remember off the top my head about them... Joseph teethed first, Andrew walked first (Oct.16,2011), Joseph walked (Nov.5,2011), I can't remember others and can't find on FaceBook. My bad... But I do know I have video of their first steps and I've always have my I-Phone in hand to take pictures.

Hopefully now I will get back on this Blogging Horse and not fall off again. Thanks to all who still visits and has not given up on me... :)
